Stripes. Shorts.

Got these lovely shorts on a shopping day in Shibuya.

Thats the first outfit I am going to wear, as soon as I go clubbing this year. The materials are feverish light, which makes moving to appear, as if you wear nothing.

Color me GREEN

Oh my lord. That was so much fun. I simple adore colours. And above all, I adore green.

Though truth is, I kinda felt like Green Lantern, one of the several comic action heroes of DC Comics. He was definitely not my favourite one in childhood days.

My heart beat other than well-known DC Comics hero Batman, for Marvel Comics, "Silver Surfer" (kind of an Anti-Hero tough) and "Iron Man".

It surprisingly made me pretty happy seeing my favorite childhood heroes on screen nowadays.

See below for the color flash!

It is a (monochrome) Beanie Story

I was wondering: why is the Beanie suddenly so popular?

P-S-P: Playful Spring Purchase

I found something.
Something that made me chuckle when I tried in on in that shop in Harajuku.
That made me chuckle that much, i just had to have it. And here it goes.

What do you create with those?

Winter-Spring-Gap part 3

Going out for Shibuya, of course, weather is still not playing it's part well.

Rain. Rain. Rain.

Ah! And clouds.

Though umbrellas are pretty handy, and really everywhere in Tokyo sold in every shape, size, color you can imagine. As soon as it starts raining.

I felt too lazy though and made myself up for a fashionable "hat" instead.

This style may resemble Winter-Spring-Gap part 1 but this one has quite a pretty color-flash-moment, thanks to orange.

Black x Blue pt.1

What shall I do?
Sometimes I hate choice.

Choice is not only about freedom.
But choice is as well about making a decision.
About sticking to something you decided for your future, for a part of you and your surrounding you don't know yet.

It can be banal things, like this post aim: what kind of Outfit do I choose to welcome my boyfriend here in.

And in the end, the accumulation of all these choices we made, the choices we regretted, the choices we did not make - all of them makes who we are, who we were and sets the frame of who we are going to be.

Tough, isn't it?

Earthquake and Snow - I just don't love you so...(Winter-Spring-Gap part 2)

Lets face it Tokyo... Even though I would love spring, with weather forecasts of snow all over Japan I can not deal going out in light chiffon spring clothes - I have to wait for that a little bit more.

The short earthquake this night (around 1-2am) and the heavy snow right now, kind of take my happy mood for spring clothes.

But!

Here my second idea for the winter-spring-gap, featuring denim, leather and red. I wondered a while back, when I purchased the red leather skirt of Dolce & Gabbana, if I wear it more frequently.. honestly, I am glad I bought it here. Because in fact, I did.

Japanese people seem to avoid wearing Jeans. If I should take a guess, maybe 15% of the visible Tokyo population wears jeans. It doesn't matter wether it snows or not - women stick with their skirt. I really appreciate that, coming from a country where over 59% of women wear Jeans only....

Looking at the pictures, I realized, how thankful I am for modern production techniques.

Once the color red ("purpur") was marked for kings and queens, for the nobleness, partially because the production of red color was too expensive. Due to a chemical mistake by Perkin, he put down the headstone for synthetic production of colors and made it possible, that we nowadays wear more than natured colored clothes.

Moto Jacket, the second

Maybe it is because I am driving motor cycles myself.

Maybe I just like leather.

Maybe it is just a trend that really got me.

I really don't know, but I enjoy myself in this Moto Jacket!
And I think this is one of the most important things in fashion: that you stay authentic to your style, authentic to yourself and enjoy playing with different fabrics, textiles, brands, images and styles.

I don't think, that there is this "one" look. Our world started to spin to fast, brought too many borders down and allowed cultures to mix - latest on the internet as we saw during the Arab Spring the past years.

But instead of making everything easier - in the end we have more things we can choose from and depending on the size of our wallets ( or at least, that's what we think, the choice barriers seem far, far away).

Colorful Basics Set 4/6

After the pink-black-intermezzo I thought of another outfit for the 6 days!

A great friend of mine (her name is Claudia, we both adore fashion and I love how our styles and identities vary sometimes drastically, but can be alike so much) saw these pictures first and encouraged this yellow combination. Truth is, I love that summer-like feeling, especially with blonde hair and orange lips. It makes me dream of heat, the smell of sun tanned skin, ice-cream and water melons.

Can not wait for more sun!!

With the basic list, find out below how good light colors work!

Pink loves Black

Isn't it obvious?
Pink and black are thankful partners - they suit each other and there shouldn't be fear for to high contrast. Especially if the current trend for total monochrome outfits shows, the more contrast, the better. I used that look last year the first time here in Tokyo and just remembered recently, how much I liked it.

I am thankful for the reminder by CIRCLEOFCHAOS! I found a post of her with a pink sweater and a black skirt recently, that reminded me of that outfit - thank you :)
(By the way, if you have time, take a look at here blog by clicking her name - definitely great looks in-between :)

Can't think of the reason, why it wasn't as present... still, the outfit is chic enough to go out or to use for work (if the length of the skirt do not disturb, basic job-skirt length should be around knee-high).
The high closed shirt by Boss is feminine and offers great focus for statement necklaces. I chose two different black ones (F21 and Mango, see detailed picture below) to keep the attitude of pink and black. Just my Emporio Armani bag should be forgiven - my luggage was restricted to weight as I flew here to Tokyo 4 months ago.

The slight pastel color of the bag matches perfectly in-between though. Black (still heating) tights and my black suede pointed DIANA pumps to finish.

Take a look below and tell me what you think.

Colorful Basics Set 3/6

Day 3 of my Basics Set

I really tried hard that time to avoid the black Moto Jacket and feel proud to present you an outfit with the peach/nude Tweet Jacket. Not only is the color more than thankful for wild, colorful combinations, but also really fashionable with the asymmetric and collarless cut.

At F21 are two colors for that specific jacket - one can be seen here on my posted photos and a color that goes more into orange. I longed for something fashionable but neutral in color.

Do you know that times, when you just need something not black to not add another color in your flower bouquet?

Will you be my valentine?

One of the most liked and celebrated days arrived in Japan.

It is Valentine's Day.

The day, you give your boyfriend/husband, your males colleagues, your male acquaintances and whoever male you may care for Chocolate. The best would be handmade, but bought chocolate is better than nothing.

In the end, your aim is to show, that you care for them.

So much talk of who receive chocolate... but what do the guys do in Japan on Valentine's day? Do they take out their spouse like it is custom in America and increasingly in Europe?

No. They don't. At least not yet.

But isn't it unfair that almost every female starts from January to look for the best receipts, ideas and even takes a hell of a time to prepare everything?

Well... in Japan every male shows his gratitude for the received chocolate on "White Day" in March. A day when it is the guy's turn to return the gratitude and to give back sweets to every female he cares for. Still, thanks to globalization it gets custom to take out one's spouse as well.

Outside of Japan, I would wear one of these outfits to spend Valentine's Day (since my boyfriend arrives here in 6 days earliest)

Which one do you like more?

Outfit 1 (for spring days) and Outfit 2 (for winter days)

Some Impressions on Valentine's Day in Japan

As you may have read in my post "Will you be my Valentine?" earlier, Japanese Valentine's Day differs a bit from Europe and America.

Just walking down Shinjuku Station welcomed me with women, looking for some nice packed pralinés and chocolate - Godiva everywhere. Pink everywhere.

As a student of business economics, I welcome the short time high consumption boost. The higher the demand, the higher the supply, since they try to be equal. Got it. Basic Economics.

But still... shouldn't there be more thoughts than: which chocolate looks nicest or costs cheapest? If I want to give some one I care for chocolate, no one stops me from doing that any other 364 days.

For those who can not experience that pink heart wave, enjoy some pictures of Shinjuku Station and "Mosaic Street" below.

I would love to hear your thoughts on Valentine's Day.

Winter-Spring-Gap part 1

Oh spring, why do you take so long?

With temperatures around 6 degrees, snowy rain or rainy snow - however one may call that - I decided to be covered in the warmest clothes I have here (one of the simplest as well):

Boyfriend coat (thanks to my best friend who forgot that at my apartment)
Grey loop Scarf (self-knitted, handmade)
Black knit beanie from Bonaparte
Boss Orange blue/white/black checked long shirt
Black MOP Skirt
Buffalo Suede Wedges
Mango Necklace

Still... I am in Tokyo which is why I decided for heating tights to wear pumps with that.

Colorful Basics Set 2/6

Do you know those moments when you realize you fell for something?

When I was thinking about the next Colorful Basics Set outfit, I could not stop myself for the black Moto Jacket. I just knew, today it has to be something with her in it.

Though I wished this Jacket would be real leather and not made of gum, I am still happy of the purchase.

Since the first Outfit surrounded on the Chiffon Skirt color and turquoise Shirt, I decided to lay the focus today on colorful accents - like in a complete blue "Schößchen" Shirt and a lime green bag - just see for yourself!

FW 2013 runway show of Marc by Marc Jacobs

So far for globalisation. Sitting in Tokyo as a German watching online stream of the fw2013 Marc by Marc Jacobs show in New York. I love Internet.

"Don't care what they may do"

Colorful Basics Set 1/6

#Great day in Shibuya

Inspired by all the nice blogs and pictures I recently got interested in, I spend my first day at the American fashion company "Forever21". I was shocked as I realized I spent over 3 hours on the 5 floor shop in Shibuya!Still, with a rather low budget but unquenchable hunger for trendy fashion, Forever21 is quite a nice backup plan.

Starting from today you will find a Set out of 8 basic pieces to get dressed fashionably for 6 days.

Calvin Klein "Provocations", featuring Alexander Skarsgard - sexy selfassuredness?!

When I first saw the Calvin Klein promotion in a fashion magazine, I wondered how provocative this one could be. Seeing that Alexander Skarsgard, a Swedish actor and American "Liebling", famous for the vampire series trueblood or the indie movie Melancholia, was featured in the campaign called "Provocations", it made me look at the Youtube Chanel for the 9:55 minutes long advertisement immediately.
